NICRODUR 400 is a wear-resistant steel grade boasting a nominal hardness of 400 HBW. Its typical chemical makeup includes Carbon (0.12–0.20%), Manganese (1.20–1.60%), Silicon (≤0.70%), Chromium (0.40–1.00%), Nickel (≤1.00%), and Boron (≤0.005%). This alloy strikes a perfect balance between hardness and toughness. Its mechanical properties feature a tensile strength of around 1250–1450 MPa and a yield strength exceeding 1000 MPa, along with excellent impact toughness even at low temperatures.
