IS 2062 Grade B plates and sheets are manufactured from carbon-manganese steel to the Indian Standard IS 2062. They can contain a carbon content of up to 0.23%, manganese up to 1.50%, and other elements such as sulfur and phosphorus within specified limitations. The plates provide minimum yield strength of 250 MPa and tensile strength between 410–540 MPa, along with satisfactory elongation values.
