Carbon Steel A334 GR 8 Tubing contains mostly carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon, along with certain alloying elements that help improve its characteristics. It can contain carbon (0.30–0.60%), manganese (0.60–1.35%), and trace amounts of phosphorus and sulfur. The tubing contains good mechanical characteristics, such as a tensile strength of 415 MPa (60 ksi) and yield strength of 240 MPa (35 ksi). It also has good weldability, formability, and oxidation resistance at high temperatures, making it well suited for applications at high pressure and temperature such as heat exchangers and boilers.
